- Electronic notification
e-NOTUM will allow the processing attended to the opening of electronic notifications
The service e-NOTUM, the AOC's electronic notification service that provides citizens, companies and entities with access to the notifications and communications issued by the different public bodies that are members, has obtained the accessibility certification issued by TOTHOMweb (a company accredited by ENAC 578/ EI883 as web and app accessibility inspection body).
With a score obtained in the TOTHOMweb Accessibility Score of 9.63/10, eNOTUM achieves 3/3 stars on the Accessibility Seal, following the criteria established by the UNE-EN 301549:2022 standard, the European standard that establishes the accessibility requirements for ICT products and services.
This certification reflects the ongoing commitment to accessibility that the AOC has maintained throughout recent years. Achieving this level of accessibility has involved extensive work, integrating accessibility into all phases of the development process. Now people with disabilities will be able to access and use this service fully, exercising their rights as autonomous citizens.
This level of accessibility compliance is not common in public administration, as it is still rare to find services of this complexity with such accessible features.
Obtaining this accessibility certificate represents the culmination of the project for the development of this new portal for consulting notifications, designed and conceived from the point of view of citizens and which sought to be more usable and accessible for everyone This new portal is part of the creation of a new one Design system for all AOC services offered to citizens and businesses, which also includes the definition of a homogeneous tone of voice and a simpler and plain language of communication with citizens.
First person testimony
TOTHOMweb's accessibility consultancy Meritxell Aymerich, affected first-hand by inaccessible websites, highlights the importance of accessibility in people's lives:
"It is ideal that a website that offers procedures to citizens has been designed to be accessible from the start. People with disabilities find that many times the websites of the administration are not and when we complain, resources need to be allocated afterwards to fix it. It is not at all common that we can do procedures as easily as with the e-NOTUM. We can easily check all notifications, filter them, browse smoothly, read them, etc. This gives us a very important autonomy and allows us to be on equal terms. Before, if a blind person, as is my case, received notifications from the administration on paper, he could not read them. Nowadays, technology allows us to access it, as long as the corresponding website or application is accessible. If they are not, we are in inferior conditions. All administration websites should be like the new e-NOTUM. We can access it perfectly for blind people but also for those who cannot use a mouse due to any motor difficulties, people with low vision, etc."
