On the day "Revolutionary local governments. Let's tear down walls!", which will be held at the L'Illa Auditorium (formerly AXA) on March 17 2026, there is a common thread that runs through everything: Digital transformation is only possible if we do it togetherLocal administrations have shared challenges and it is through collaborative work that we can overcome them with solutions that serve the entire territory.
For this reason, the program of the day reserves a prominent space for different high-impact collaborative projects, which are changing the way local governments manage data, taxes, security and citizen service. Four pieces that, together, help build a more coherent, interoperable and efficient digital country.
This data space is the shared commitment between the four provincial councils, Localret, Barcelona City Council and the AOC to tear down the walls that separate information and processes, and which was formalized with the creation of the Smart Local Government Network, last March 2025 within the framework of the Digital Government 2025 Congress. The objective is clear: have useful, shareable and aligned data, to improve decision-making and public services. The session will feature speakers representants from all the provincial councils, Localret, Barcelona City Council and the AOC, showing how this project is progressing thanks to collaboration.
It is a single window through which citizens can access all their essential information in an integrated manner. It is a clear example of how joint work between the provincial councils and the AOC allows for simplifying processes and reducing management times, while also offering a more fluid and consistent experience.
Cybersecurity is a challenge that few local administrations can face alone. The Cybersecurity Agency, Localret and the AOC present a joint strategy to strengthen the territory with more prevention, more detection and more response capacity. This is an example of essential cooperation to guarantee safer and more resilient administrations.
The Generalitat is promoting a model of face-to-face citizen care in collaboration with the city councils. An integrated model that extends to the territory to offer omnichannel, clear and coherent attention, which wants to simplify the citizen experience.
Because they represent what really transforms:
The digital revolution in the local world cannot be understood without this way of working. Bringing down walls is, precisely, joining efforts.
