The Digital Government Congress (CGD) was the scene of the birth of the Smart Local Government Network from Catalunya, which will establish the foundations for optimizing administrative management, improving the efficiency of services and offering a more agile and personalized experience to citizens. During the inauguration of the Congress, thestrategic agreement to promote the use of data and artificial intelligence (AI) in improving public services, between the Generalitat, the AOC, Barcelona City Council and the four Provincial Councils.
The agreement establishes the creation of the Smart Local Government Network, a shared infrastructure that will allow all local administrations to access advanced data and AI solutions. This pioneering initiative aims to improve the efficiency and quality of public services, facilitating evidence-based decision-making.

With this agreement, Catalan administrations will have advanced tools to analyze and interpret large volumes of information, facilitating data-based decision-making. This will allow them to anticipate needs, automate processes and offer more precise and efficient responses to citizens. Collaborative space for Data and AI for the Local World
This agreement involves the creation of a Collaborative Data and AI Space for the Local World, developed by the AOC. This project foresees a collaborative governance model that will coordinate actions to guarantee equitable access to digital services and promote support for local entities in the implementation of these technologies.
The promotion of data and AI will be a milestone in the digital transformation of the public sector in Catalonia. With initiatives like this, it will consolidate itself as a benchmark in the application of advanced technologies for a more accessible, transparent and efficient administration, always focused on the real needs of citizens.
