Lleida has hosted the second presentation of the Digital Agenda of the Municipalities in Catalonia, a promoting and facilitating instrument for the realization of strategies, plans and digital transformation projects jointly and shared by the municipalities. It is a document that serves as a standard agenda so that councils can draw up their own digital agenda.
The Digital Agenda of Catalonia is a tool developed by the National Pact for the Digital Society (PNSD), signed on October 24, 2016 by the Government of the Generalitat of Catalonia, the four Provincial Councils, the Catalan Association of Municipalities (ACM), the Federation of Municipalities of Catalonia (FMC) and Localret, with the aim to join efforts and add synergies and resources to better respond to citizens and administrations and position Catalonia as an international benchmark in the face of the challenges of the digital revolution.
In this sense, the AOC Consortium participates in the Digital Agenda of Catalonia as the body responsible for promoting the axis of digital administration and open government, one of the five axes covered by the PNSD.
The presentation of the Digital Agenda of Catalonia was attended by the mayor of Lleida, Michael Pueyo, who has welcomed the Director General of the Localret Consortium, Andrew Francisco, who presented the Agenda. The managing director of the AOC, Santi Gallardo, participated in the round table "Collaboration between administrations, key to the digital transformation of towns and cities" highlighted the importance of collaborative work between Catalan administrations to achieve a digital country.
The content of the Agenda is the result of a process of analysis, reflection and debate shared by more than eighty people from 43 town halls across the country. It aims to articulate the digital transformation of the municipalities of Catalonia to face the challenges of the present and future, to achieve higher levels of quality in the services offered, efficiency in the management of public resources and satisfaction of citizens and companies in their relationship with the administration, with the will to build consensus and share common objectives.
The Agenda will also generate meeting spaces, coordination and prioritization of the challenges and needs of municipalities for the global digitization of towns and cities.
