From October 1, 2023, T-CAT certificates on card issued before April 13, 2023 will no longer be valid. vàlids according to the guidelines of the eIDAS regulation. As a result, all these certificates will be revoked on Wednesday, September 27.
We have detected that there are a significant number of T-CATs that have not yet been renewed. Therefore, we urge you to apply for the new T-CATs as soon as possible to ensure that there is enough time to process your applications. Please contact your institution's Digital Certification Officer to manage this renewal.
Some essential considerations:
- Make sure to install the new software required to use the new T-CAT cards.
- You will never run out of T-CAT. You can continue to use both cards (the old and the new) until September 27.
- If it is not absolutely necessary to use the T-CAT on a card, consider the T-CAT P (in software format), research the benefits it can offer you.
- From the month of October, we will start the corresponding reimbursement process for the unused time of the validity of the certificates. We will keep you informed about the details of this procedure in future communications.
Remember that Operator certificates idCAT and T-CAT Operator are not affected and will not be revoked.
