The Department of Agriculture, Livestock, Fisheries and Food has published the resolution
ARP/2424/2025, of June 19, by which it is they call for aid to local authorities in areas
rural and mountain areas for the improvement of road infrastructure for access to rural areas
habitats, basic services and agricultural operations in rural areas and counties of
mountain.
The objective of this aid is to promote investments in access roads to inhabited rural areas,
to basic services and agricultural operations in order to guarantee accessibility to the centers of
population, promote mobility throughout the territory and avoid depopulation as much as possible,
ensure territorial balance and social cohesion. The following may be subject to subsidies:
following actions:
a. The actions of expansion, improvement and/or adaptation of an existing rural road or rural roads/
s, which have already fulfilled their useful life and use period of the asset, or have serious deterioration
structural that affects its transitivity, road safety and that may require improvement or
comprehensive reform.
b. Specific improvement actions for road safety. Stabilization of slopes,
modification of the route, installation of protective fences or signage. Paving of
dirt roads that give access to inhabited villages.
c. Maintenance actions to preserve the quality of roads, which have
any superficial structural deterioration that affects its transitivity, safety and dangerousness
road.
Mountain municipalities and those belonging to mountain counties may be beneficiaries,
municipalities in rural areas with less than 100 inhabitants/km² and county councils in
mountain and the General Council of Aran.
This grant for the years 2026, 2027,2028, 2029 and 20.000.000 has a budget of XNUMX euros.
with a distribution of 5.000.000 euros annually, endowed with the maximum amounts in accordance with
the percentages established in section 5.1 of the regulatory bases (Roads Order
ACC/132/2022, of May 25).
The actions provided for in this Order are intended to ensure the viability of the
rural agricultural infrastructures by improving communication routes in rural areas. These
areas with low population density, and mountain areas, are the areas with the highest
deficit of road infrastructure for communication between inhabited areas and for access to
basic services, the improvement of these roads can put a brake on the depopulation of these areas
zones.
