Cloud usage is increasing among the youngest population in the EU. Similarly, the younger population made greater use of Internet storage space to share files, 25%, compared to 6% registered in the 55 to 74 age group.
The article published by Eurostat also collects data on Internet use. Almost two-thirds of EU citizens (65%) use the Internet every day or almost every day, and around half of the population (51%) use the Internet away from home or work, from laptops or devices tomorrow.
As more and more users connect to the network on a daily basis in the region, the percentage of people who have never used the Internet shows a decline from 43% in 2006 to 18% in 2014. Some notable examples where the population has not connected are Romania (39%), Bulgaria (37%), Greece (33%), Italy (32%) or Portugal (30%). In comparison are Denmark, Luxembourg, the Netherlands, Finland, Sweden or the United Kingdom, where less than 10% of its inhabitants have never connected to the network.
