Generative artificial intelligence, based on the analysis of large volumes of data to create original content such as texts, images, code, music or videos, is beginning to be used regularly by public and private entities, as well as by citizens in general. The local administrations of Barcelona are also beginning its implementation with the aim of to streamline internal processes and improve attention to citizens, taking advantage of the potential of this technology to make public services more efficient.
To accompany local governments in this process of technological incorporation, the Cabinet of Innovation, Integrity and Local Digital Transformation of the Barcelona Provincial Council has created the Decalogue for the public employee who uses generative AIThis document contains key principles and recommendations for using artificial intelligence in the public sector with greater security, judgment and confidence, ensuring that its application is carried out respecting the administration's own values and principles. The Decalogue is presented as an agile and useful tool to learn the basic principles of generative AI and everything you need to know to apply it correctly in the field of local public management.
