The IMD has been recognized in the category of Digital Transformation, for being a key tool that helps local authorities measure and improve their level of digital maturity. This nomination is a recognition of collaborative work and the commitment to a more efficient, proactive and people-centered administration.

What is IMD?
THEDigital Maturity Index (IMD) is a tool promoted by the AOC that allows local entities know your level of digital maturity in an objective and comparative manner. The IMD:
- Evaluate the state of digitization of local public services.
- Identify strengths and areas for improvement in digital transformation.
- Offers personalized recommendations to move towards a more efficient and people-centered administration.
- Allows comparison with other similar entities, encouraging mutual learning and collaboration.
In addition, the IMD allows monitoring of evolution over time, compare with other similar entities and identify good practices.
The IMD is a collaborative initiative involving different levels of government. The four provincial governments of Catalonia and all Catalan county councils participate in validating the methodology and results of the MD. Good governance is essential in this project. Regarding the usefulness of the IMD, we have found that the publication of the results, and especially the annual recognitions, serve as an incentive for local administrations to identify their areas of improvement and advance in the digital transformation process.
