The VÀLid service of the AOC obtains the certification of conformity with the ENS in the high category
The Councilor of the Presidency of the Generalitat of Catalonia, albert dalmau, has appointed Miquel Estapé and Valls as the new director of the Open Administration Consortium of Catalonia (AOC).
Born in La Roca del Vallès, Miquel Estapé is a telecommunications engineer from the Universitat Politècnica de Catalunya and the University of London. He has supplemented his training with the master's degree in public administration from ESADE and various managerial development and innovation programs at IESE.
Estapé has dedicated his professional career to promoting transformation and digital innovation, and has an extensive career in the Administration. Currently, he was deputy director of Innovation and Data at the Open Administration of Catalonia Consortium, where he has worked since 2002, holding various managerial positions. In the private sector, he worked for eight years as a project manager at United Distillers and Mazars Consulting in national and European initiatives.
In its more informative aspect, Miquel Estapé collaborates as a professor with several universities in Catalonia and Spain, and with the master's degree in public administration from ESADE. He has been co-director of the postgraduate course in Electronic Administration and Open Government in the local world at the University of Girona and regularly participates in national and international conferences.
In the field of civil society, Estapé is a member of the Catalan Administration Reform Forum and co-author of the 2023 report on 80 proposals to reform the public sector. He is vice-president of the Catalan Association of Public Management (ACGP) and has been a member of the board of directors of the Professional Public Management Association.
For eighteen years he combined his professional activity with that of elected office, being councilor and mayor of La Roca del Vallès, vice-president of the Regional Council of Vallès Oriental and president of the Parc de la Serralada Litoral.
Estapé takes over a Santi Gallardo who has been director of the AOC for almost two years.
About the AOC
The mission of the AOC Consortium is to promote the digital transformation of Catalan administrations. Its main objectives are to promote interoperability between public administrations; create and provide common e-government services; reuse the applications and services of electronic administration that are developed, and guarantee and accredit the identity of the citizenship and the personnel of the public sector in the formalities and electronic communications.
The AOC Consortium is made up of the Administration of the Generalitat and the local governments represented by the Localret Consortium. It has its origins in the Pact for the promotion and development of the Information Society in Catalan public administrations, signed in the Parliament of Catalonia on July 23, 2001.
