La VI edition of the Open Administration Awards to the town councils and county councils that the AOC grants annually has recognized as leading bodies in digital transformation in the Town Councils of Llinars del Vallès, Girona and Arenys de Munt. These three have given us the highest absolute score of theDigital Maturity Index (IMD) that elaborates the AOC and that determines from the analysis of some objective indicators, the data of use of the services AOC and of the analysis of the webs of 947 city councils and 42 county councils. In the case of Girona, this is the third consecutive year that the Girona City Council has won this award.
Due to the current pandemic situation, the Open Administration Awards 2020 ceremony was held following the hybrid format. They attended the face-to-face event held at the Casa Golferichs, the Honorable Minister of Digital Policies and Public Administration and President of the AOC, jordi puigneró, the president of Localret and vice-president of the AOC, James Oliveras and the director of the Carles Pi i Sunyer Foundation, Jaume Magre. The director of the AOC was also present, Marga Bonmatí, which has set out the methodology used to score bodies. The award-winning bodies took part in the event virtually via videoconference.
The aim of the Open Administration Recognitions is to assess and recognize the implementation and use of e-government services in local bodies and their consequent digital transformation in their relationship with the public and in their internal management.
This year 76 Catalan local bodies have been awarded in seven categories according to the number of inhabitants of the bodies and their nature:
- Councils of 1 to 500 inhabitants
- Councils of 501 to 1.000 inhabitants
- Councils of 1.001 to 5.000 inhabitants
- Councils of 5.001 to 20.000 inhabitants
- Councils of 20.001 to 50.000 inhabitants
- Councils with more than 50.000 inhabitants
- County councils

The awarded entities have at their disposal the web stamps in mode banner to be able to insert it in the corporate web.
Know the degree of digital maturity of your administration
Thanks toDigital Maturity Index , prepared by the AOC, local administrations have at their disposal rigorous information to know their status, their strengths and areas for improvement. Comparisons can also be made with other similar administrations or with those leading the digital transformation.
The Digital Maturity Index is a unique initiative, both at national and European level, that allows us to rigorously assess the degree of maturity of the digital transformation of a public entity.
