This June, the training of the pilot has begun. Decidim Catalonia, which will have the participation of 10 town halls from the regions of Tarragona and Lleida, chosen according to the criteria of the Transparent Governments Network and the Provincial Councils of Lleida and Tarragona, which accompany and collaborate in the deployment of the entire pilot project.
The effective start of the pilots Decidim Catalonia will be launched at the end of this year, when all the infrastructure and governance will be available. Starting in 2022, a gradual deployment of the service in the local world will begin.
The training has a global approach to advice in the field of citizen participation in the receiving councils that will allow the use of the tool to be optimized, and will guarantee its sustainability.
The program includes:
- General training on citizen participation
- Accompaniment, advice and support in the design of a citizen participation project in the chosen town hall
- Implementation of the platform Decidim and training in the use and back-office of the platform Decidim
- Execution, throughout 2022, of the project chosen by each city council with the platform Decidim
In this way, the Government of the Generalitat and the Network of Transparent Governments make a firm commitment to citizen participation as a fundamental element for democratic quality, at the same time deploying a digital infrastructure to support the local world, in a framework of collaboration in which all the administrations involved add up to move towards an ecosystem of country participation and of the highest quality.
The service Decidim Catalonia, which will be coordinated through the Network of Transparent Governments, will offer the local world a comprehensive service, in a “turnkey” format that will include technological, organizational, technical and business support aspects. The AOC will be responsible for making the platform available to the local world Decidim, manage the technical service, provide support for queries and incidents, as well as develop the agreed improvements.
