People who have a Foreigner Identity Card (TIE) can now request idCAT Mobile to carry out procedures electronically. Until now, only people who had a National Identity Document (DNI) could request registration in this identification system.
With this modification, strangerseres who have a TIE will be able to identify themselves with idCAT Mobile and process applications and grants offered by the Generalitat de Catalunya and the City Councils because most of these procedures can be done with idCAT Phone.
Now you can register with the DNI or TIE "expired"
Exceptionally, it is allowed to register atidCAT Mobile with a DNI or TIE card that expired as of March 14 (inclusive). This measure has been taken in accordance with the Royal Decree Law 8/2020, of March 17, of extraordinary urgent measures to address the economic and social impact of COVID-19, that in the fourth additional provision, e.g.renew one year the validity of the DNI expiring from March 14, 2020 (date included).
