This week, the technology managers of the four Catalan provincial governments and the director of the AOC accompanied Josep Bosch in a touching event to celebrate his retirement, which will take effect on May 29th.
Josep Bosch has dedicated thirty-nine and a half years to public service, leading the technology and digitalization of the Girona Provincial Council. He began his career by implementing the first Bull computer with its own operating system, driving the evolution towards Unix-based systems and the deployment of the internet, and has accompanied the organization to the present day, where all staff have a personal computer.
Josep has been a witness and protagonist of the IT revolution that has transformed the way we work, from paper to electronic management, and that has radically changed organizations, processes, skills and work culture. A path that has required consolidating a culture of continuous improvement and encouraging teams to maintain a firm commitment to lifelong learning.
The head of the Service is being taken over by Marc Ferrés, who was already part of the Provincial Council's New Technologies team.
Technology facilitates change, but it is people who make it possible. Josep is a good reflection of that discreet, humble and persevering public worker who makes changes happen and, together, we improve.
