Digital Transformation Module in the Local World: train yourself to lead change
The AOC held a workshop on the digitalization of school meal subsidy applications on November 24. The session, in which some regional councils and town halls participated, shared different models and good practices already implemented throughout the territory with the aim ofdevelop a consensual model for processing requests for confirmation of meal benefits that includes good practices already implemented, incorporates the AOC's digital solutions and requires minimal effort from local entities.
Based on the results and conclusions of the workshop, we will continue working to expand the scope for future calls.
During 2025, the AOC has launched a pilot project to digitize the application process for individual school lunch grants, with the aim of simplifying procedures and improving efficiency for both families and local administrations.
The pilot, initially small in nature, was based on standardization of the form model addressed to those families that have not experienced changes in their socioeconomic situation compared to the previous year. Using an electronic form available on e-TRAM and based on a responsible declaration, families have been able to complete the process without providing documentation that the administration already has. At the same time, they have been able to consult the data from the previous call through the citizen folder of the county councils.
In this first edition, the pilot has had the participation of the Maresme and Vallès Occidental regional councils, with more than a hundred applications processed. The AOC is confident that this pilot can mark a turning point in the digitalization of school grants, improving the response to families and reducing the workload for the administration.
