The next 29 of October, the AOC will launch the new idCAT website, a step forward in improving the digital experience of citizens. This renovation responds to the desire to do more accessible, intuitive and efficient access to digital identity services for citizens.

- Unification of websites: Until now, idCAT had two different platforms —one for the certified idCAT and another for the Mobile idCAT. With the new website, everything is integrated into a single platform, simplifying navigation and understanding of the available services.

New: idCAT certified without travel
From October 29th you will be able to obtain the IDCAT certificate through video-identification, without the need to go to any idCAT Registration Entity.
This new system represents a step forward in the digitalization of public services, since it allows citizens to obtain their certificate in a fast, secure and completely online, from home.
This service is only available to people who have Spanish ID card o TIE residence permitThe procedure is fully online and can be done from any device with a camera.
How does the process work?
- Start the request of the idCAT certificate through the portal www.idcat.cat.
- Choose the option of register through video identification, showing your identity document and following simple instructions.
- In a maximum period of 48 hours, you will receive one e-mail with instructions for sign the issuance request, and then do the download and installation of your idCAT a certificate.
The whole process is safe, fast and accessible.
What does this change imply?
- More comfort: you no longer need to physically go to an office to obtain the certificate.
- More accessibility: the new portal makes it easier to understand and use digital services.
