The AOC will incorporate independent members into the governing bodies following the recommendations of the Administration reform group

The Open Administration Consortium of Catalonia (AOC) will take a step forward in improving its governance, incorporating independent members into their governing bodiesThis decision follows the recommendations of the Administration Reform Group (CETRA) and has become effective with the recent modification of the AOC statutes.

On June 25, the Executive Council of the Generalitat of Catalonia ratified the modification of articles 7 and 11.1 of the statutes of the AOC. These changes expand the scope of action of the AOC and empower the Generalitat to appoint representants independent of the General Council.

What exactly changes?

Currently, the AOC General Council is made up of twenty members: twelve representants of the Generalitat of Catalonia and eight of the Localret Consortium. With the modification of article 11.1, the Generalitat of Catalonia will be able to appoint two independent membersThis measure is implemented following the guidelines of CETRA, which seeks to improve the governance of public entities by providing external perspectives and additional expertise.

In addition, the amendment to Article 7 expands the scope of action of the AOC. Now, the AOC will be able to offer its services to all entities that are subject to the common administrative procedure regulations of public administrations and the legal regime of the public sector of CataloniaThis means that more organizations will be able to benefit from the digital solutions and services provided by the AOC.

These modifications reinforce the AOC's commitment to good governance and efficiency in public service.
