The EU presents its International Digital Strategy
The AOC has held a workshop on new cloud digital infrastructure services for the local world, with the aim of understanding the current needs and problems of local councils and county councils and identifying potential shared services. The aim is for local authorities to be able to stop worrying about the management of operations and cybersecurity of increasingly complex digital infrastructures and data and entrust these tasks to a specialized and trusted public body.
The workshop was held with the support of Consorci Localret and the participation of the Cybersecurity Agency of Catalonia. It was attended by around fifteen ICT managers from medium and large municipalities, and was a meeting point to discuss the different problems that local entities face in the technological field, identify potential solutions shared by the local world and assess the value that the AOC can provide.
The AOC's challenge is to offer a "public cloud" shared by local entities that guarantees quality, efficient, secure, agile, scalable and sustainable digital infrastructure services that free up management and cybersecurity tasks.
In recent years, the AOC has promoted an ambitious strategy for migrating digital services to the cloud. Based on this experience, we are evaluating potential common digital infrastructure services and carrying out several pilots during 2025. One of the pilots that is being worked on will be the implementation of a cloud backup with anti-ransomware functionalities.
These new services are proposed as complementary solutions to the framework agreements for the purchase of technology by the Localret Consortium and the Calalunya Cybersecurity Agency, which offer a very wide range of options.
