The Barcelona Provincial Council has launched a system based on artificial intelligence that automatically generates summaries of the advertisements published in the Official Gazette of the Province of Barcelona (BOPB)The solution saves time and improves the coherence of published information, making it easier for citizens to understand.
Until now, the team that validates BOPB publications spent many hours writing abstracts manually. This slow and repetitive task caused inconsistencies due to the different interpretations of each writer. With the new system, abstract writing is automated, reducing the workload and ensuring greater precision and consistency in publications.

The Barcelona Provincial Council has developed an AI algorithm that automatically generates a title-summary for each announcement that is to be published in the BOPB. The model has been trained with thousands of announcements published in the BOPB to reflect the official style and maintain the historical coherence of the publication.
Each title-summary appears as an editable proposal within the submission form. The writer can validate or modify it before sending the ad. Corrections are collected as feedback to improve the system in future training sessions.
