The AOC participates in the Conference "Transparència and privacy in the local world: duties, limits and good practices”

The Head of Innovation Service of the AOC, David Pastor and the head of the Open Government service of the AOC, Ferran Farriol they participated last October 15 in the day "Transparència and privacy in the local world: duties, limits and good practices” where they presented the state of the Portal of Transparència, challenges and advances in automation and the proof of concept of anonymization of plenary acts.

Organized by the Maresme Regional Council, the conference aimed to help town councils reflect on how to guarantee the transparència and access to public information while protecting personal data, from a practical, legal and institutional perspective.

The day began with the intervention ofAina Roca, from the Barcelona Provincial Council, who presented the services offered by the corporation to promote transparència active and passive through the SAIP. Then, from the AOC we shared the current status of the portal transparència, the main challenges and advances in automation, as well as the proof of concept that we are developing for the automatic anonymization of plenary minutes.

Then, Josep Ramon Barbera, representation of the GAIP, he presented the institution's vision on the interpretation of the right of access to public information. Xavier Urios, from APDCAT, highlighted the importance of finding a balance between the right of access and the protection of personal data. The day ended with a round table in which several questions and doubts raised by the audience were resolved.
