The number of companies using digital services has increased from just over 15.000 (in 2019) to around 100.000 companies by 2024, therefore, the number of companies making use of digital public services has multiplied by six in just over 5 years. This implies that throughout 2024, this volume of companies has accessed a procedure, notification, business folder or any other digital public service using the digital identification node of Catalonia, Válid, by digital means. (These data do not include digital access to the websites of the services of the General Administration of the State, such as the Tax Agency, Social Security, DGT, etc.)
As can be seen in the graph, the business sector has experienced a great evolution in the use of digital services in recent years, so it can be understood that both companies and entities comply with the legal obligation to only interact electronically with public administrations.
The motivation behind this impressive growth in the number of organizations making use of digital services are:
- the impetus for the creation and improvement of digital public services following the entry into force of the Law 39/2015, on administrative procedure
- the legal obligation of companies to interact digitally with public administrations following the entry into force of the Law 39/2015, on administrative procedure and the Royal Decree 203 / 2021 who develops it, the Decree 76/2020, on digital administration I la Law 18/2020, on the facilitation of economic activity
- the uses derived from the need for virtual relationships as a result of the covid-19 pandemic
- the creation of more digital services easy and usable, designed and created with citizens but also the business sector in mind
This upward trend is linked to the increase in daily digital transactions with our services, which have increased by 28% compared to the previous year, and have doubled their volume in 3 years and have been two million throughout 2024.
This number of unique users only strengthens the line of continuous increase in the use of AOC services since 2020 and which you can consult at Balance Sheet of AOC Services 2024.
This upward trend in the number of users and uses has allowed the expansion of thesaving what the AOC's task entails for administrations, citizens and companies throughout Catalonia, allowing society to save money in 2024 more than 614 million euros (30 euros per euro invested)
The number of people using digital services has quadrupled since the pandemic
El number of people who use digital services has gone from just over 750.000 people (in 2019) to more than 3 million users in 2024, and therefore the number of people using digital public services has increased multiplied by four in just over 5 years.
This implies that, throughout 2024, the 50% of Catalans over 16 years old have accessed a procedure, notification, citizen folder or any other digital public service that uses the digital identification node of Catalonia, Vàlid, by digital means. (This data does not include digital access to La Meva Salut, nor to the websites of the services of the General Administration of the State, such as the Tax Agency, Social Security, DGT, etc.
