The General Directorate of Traffic (DGT) announced this morning that it will extend the operation of the ATEX5 service until January 30, 2025. This date will be the final one to deactivate access to ATEX5.
Therefore, during these months of coexistence, as we recommended in the last communication on the closure of ATEX5, both in the case of sanctioning and non-sanctioning procedures, from the AOC we advise you to carry out the following actions:
- The data that ATEX5 offered in its two services was a lot. The move to consume PID services has involved "splitting" the two services to comply with the principle of data minimization. Therefore, have you reviewed your procedures that still use ATEX5 data and detected the required data in the PID services? The consultation letter of services from the DGT will help you do this task if you have it pending.
- Having said that, you have taken the action of asking for them new authorizations to consume the services offered by the PID? The AOC recommends that you request the new authorizations with sufficient time since DGT is not quick to authorize and, if there are also requirements, authorization can take weeks.
- From the AOC we have detected that one of the most common problems of the entities is that their supplier has not made the necessary integrations to consume DGT for the procedures that are now authorized by PID. So have you contacted your provider to check that you are not getting errors when consuming? In this link, you can consult the integration document. Remember that, if you have the authorization, even if you normally consume via integration, you can also consume via the EACAT screens
- Do you have all DGT consumption controlled by the areas of your organization? Is it possible that some still consume ATEX5?
From the AOC we are aware of the impact these types of technological changes have, especially for administrations with fewer resources. We are at your disposal to help you in everything possible.
