The Via Oberta service of the AOC Consortium that allows the consultation of data on the legal residence of foreigners has changed its issuer: the Directorate General of Police (DGP) is now in charge of providing this data instead of the Ministry of Territorial Policy and Civil Service; as explained in the post of October 11, 2023 “The Via Abierta service that offers the consultation of legal residence data of foreigners changes issuer and it is necessary to apply for new authorizations".
This change of issuer implies that the service of legal residence of foreign persons will cease to be active on May 31 of this year, given that the data must be consumed through DGP, which already has it available.
In place of the previous legal residence data consultation service, the DGP offers the following modalities:
• Consultation of legal residence data for documentation
• Consultation of legal residence data by affiliation
To be able to continue using the legal residence data, the issuing body needs to request a new authorization for these two modalities.
In addition, as a novelty, it is worth noting the modality provided for in the identity data service:
• Consultation of extended identity data of foreigners
However, it is recommended to also request authorization for this new modality, which returns the information registered in the consulted NIE (affiliation data and card data).
In order to inform the affected bodies of the need to apply for authorizations again, last October an individualized communication was sent detailing the matter. However, it has been detected that not all authorizations have been requested and, for this reason, a second communication will be sent by EACAT and by email to those responsible for interoperability of these bodies. It should be emphasized that if these authorizations are not processed, you will no longer be able to consume the service.
For those entities that consume this service in an integrated way, they must take into account that since it is a new data transmitter, they must make a new integration with the DGP's legal residence service for foreigners. On the other hand, those organizations that want to consume the DGP service through web services (outside EACAT screens) have the technical documentation of the services available.
Finally, taking advantage of the changes made in the services of the DGP, the information has been unified in a single service letter, which incorporates all the updated information on the services offered by this issuer.
