Clear communication has become one of the administration's principles of action in its relationship with citizens. One of the main criteria for the design of digital services is the use of plain language or, as TERMCAT states, using a "simple and efficient writing style that allows readers to easily understand the written text, which is based in the use of concise and clear expressions, an ordered linguistic structure and a good design of the document".
In this way, from the AOC we work to promote this clear communication and to do so we have the figure of a user experience manager (UX) who is responsible for ensuring that digital services are easy easy to use and understanding.
The UX team is currently working on new and comprehensive design systems, which are gradually being deployed across the entire ecosystem of services provided by the AOC. Some examples of this work include the new EACAT, the extranet of the Catalan public administrations, or the electronic notification service e-NOTUM.
This task of UX analysis and promotion of plain language is also being worked on in two key services from the perspective of citizens: the portal transparència and the electronic processing portal e-TRAM, services that have an impact on the active advertising of information, and on the files and forms that a significant part of the town councils make available to citizens for processing electronically. The promotion of clear communication and plain language in the field of public administration is related to a culture of service to citizens, proximity and justice, and in areas such as health or law, it is particularly relevant
