The Advisory Commission of the Cybersecurity Agency is set up to deploy Catalonia's cyber security model in the local world

The Cybersecurity Agency of Catalonia, since this week, has an Advisory Commission to guarantee the fulfillment of one of its main objectives: deploying the cybersecurity model in the local administration, and it does so with the collaboration of the AOC Consortium. This Advisory Commission has already established the bases of the work plan and the calendar of the upcomingeres sessions to evaluate the progress of the Commission's work.

The Commission will be made up of different experts from the AOC Consortium, the Girona Provincial Council, the Lleida Provincial Council and the Tremp, Tarragona, Cornellà and Sant Boi de Llobregat City Councils. The formation of this Committee representa, therefore, a collaboration between different institutions to jointly address the challenge involved in implementing an effective cybersecurity model.

On the other hand, with the creation of this Advisory Commission, it is intended to establish a solid framework to address the challenges of the sector in the local administration and guarantee an efficient and secure management of information. The importance of this initiative lies in the need to ensure the protection of data and critical infrastructures against cyber threats. A challenge that, like other entities, administrations must face.

The first meeting of the Commission was held this Thursday, January 25 and served to define the strategy and stipulate the initial bases of its purpose. The president of the Commission and Director of the Cybersecurity Agency, Tomàs Roy, emphasizes that “The challenge of deploying the new cybersecurity model for local administrations requires and demands collaboration with the most relevant entities and agents.” representa"We need to work with the municipal world to achieve the success of the deployment. To date, we have reached 214 municipal entities, but the leap we want to make calls on us to promote this institutional collaboration such as the one that will be made within the framework of this Commission."

This starting point reflects the will of the Government and the institutions involved to work together, in the digital security of the whole country, as well as in the construction of a common model of Administration. This is another tool in the transversal transformation of institutions throughout the territory, through a securely connected Catalonia that looks after the well-being of citizens.
