The head of Innovation Services of the AOC David Pastor, presented at the 19th Congress of Archives and Document Management of Catalonia the Digital Maturity Index (IMD), one of the experiences promoted by the AOC in data governance. The Congress, under the motto "Data in action: from modeling to exploitation", provided an ideal framework to explore data processing strategies and new archival paradigms.
The IMD is a composite indicator made up of more than 30 indicators from multiple data sources that measures the level of digital transformation of Catalan Local Administrations. David Pastor emphasized the importance of data governance throughout the IMD calculation process. He showed, with concrete examples, how the implementation of standards, norms and procedures is essential to face the challenges that appear in the life cycle of the data, from its capture process to its synthesis and publication.
