It's been almost two years since the idCAT download went away become independent of browsers. Before the change, when downloading the certificate it was installed by default in the browser where the action was performed and was only compatible with some browsers.
Currently, downloading idCAT can be done with any browser, as you get a file that can be saved and installed on as many devices as needed.
