The public administration may cancel a representation directly, without the request of either party. In the case of the Representa, the Electronic Registry of Powers of Attorney, this cancellation has been enabled and can be managed through the concept of cancellation.
When to cancel a representation?
When the administration detects an error in a representation, it is necessary to motivate its cancellation and cancel it, so that it is not used in administrative practice and the action of one person on behalf of another in any administrative procedure is not allowed, based on it.
Errors can be of two main types, when there is an error:
- in the identification data of the representation, e.g. incorrect name or identification number.
- in the typology of representation based on the powers of attorney or supporting documents provided, e.g. in the power of attorney a power of attorney for procedures is identified and instead, a type A or General power of attorney has been registered.
Do not cancel these representations may mean that, for example, an organization consults whether a person can act in representaanother, but does not appear in the database of the Representa because the DNI or the type of power of attorney registered are incorrect.
How should a public employee proceed when he detects an error in a representation? Who is responsible for the cancellation? How is it structured?
Cancellation procedure
- one has been created representation and the same manager who created it detects that there is a data error >> you just have to cancel and indicate the reason, e.g. “Error in generating the representation”
- one has been consulted representacreated by another manager/validated by another public worker and a “serious” data error has been detected >>
- if it is one representation that has passed through “pending validation”: check who validated it representation (details) and contact them to discuss the reasons and have that person cancel it.
- if it is one representation that has not passed through pending validation, created by a public worker: check who created it (details) and contact them to discuss the reasons and have this person cancel it.
- one has been consulted representacreated by a citizen/company and that has not passed through pending validation: it must be cancelled directly by the public worker who detected the error.

How to cancel a representation?
To cancel a representaWe can do it with both hands.eres:
- From the Detail Query of a representation (see section “Consult the details of a representation" to How can I make inquiries about representations?)
- Or, by displaying the “View” button, which we have in the list of representations and selecting the “Cancel” option
The cancellation must be motivated and optionally we can add the necessary documentation to motivate the cancellation of the representation by the administration.
Afterwards, we must click on the Cancel button
If we are sure of this, we inform the reason for the cancellation and click on Confirm:
I the representation will remain in the “canceled".
