AOC Support advances towards a digital support and training model: 2025 review
Over the last twenty years, the way we relate to the administration has evolved a lot. From having to go to the offices in person to do any paperwork, we have been able to do many of the usual procedures online. One of the services that has facilitated this digital transformation and which the Open Administration of Catalonia has been promoting is the digital identity: an easy, fast and secure way to prove your identity to the administration so that you can carry out procedures online.
Hans and Lara, two young people from the Netherlands who want to go from Erasmus to VilAOC University and who have obtained their digital identity online in just a few minutes, only with their passport and a selfie with your mobile. Hans will settle in the village of VilaAOC de Baix and La Lara in VilAOC de Dalt.
At VilAOC de Baix they do everything on paper and that is why Hans, despite having a digital identity, will have to travel expressly a month before to do all the paperwork in person. On the other hand, at VilAOC de Dalt, where they have opted for digital administration, Lara can carry out the necessary formalities to prepare for her stay on the Internet.
Uses of digital identity
Lara has done the procedures related to her study trip on the Internet using her digital identity. However, there are many other steps that digital identity services such as idCAT Certificat and idCATMòbil allow you to do. For example: pre-registering for school, applying for a grant, scholarship or grant; apply for an unemployment benefit, a building permit and many other procedures without the need for travel and with the same guarantees and security as face-to-face management.
There are currently more than 2 million people with a Mobile idCAT.
