Encouraging the publication of public information on transparency portals in a clear, understandable, practical and reusable way are key elements in helping citizens to dispose of and interpret existing public information on the portals.
In this sense, from the Berguedà County Council they have worked on good practice regarding the improvement of the visualization of data from different sections of the transparency portal, mainly from the “Agreements and subsidies” section. This good practice consists of facilitating the visualization of data in the form of graphs and thus being able to filter different items of interest.
The data shown in the different graphs are automatically fed from the Open Data portal of the entity itself. In the case of the items of agreements and subsidies, the data sets are those provided by the AOC Consortium, while for the item of Resolutions of the requests for access to public information a data set has been created. own. For this last item, the County Council has been inspired by the solution recently provided by the Diputació de Barcelona to the SeTDIBA town councils.
Once these visualizations have been published on the transparency portal of the County Council, they have begun to be implemented in the portals of the town councils of the Berguedà region with whom the County Council has signed a collaboration agreement to give a boost to digital management. and transparency, as for example in the City Council of Casserres, where we indicate the link to the views implemented in the collaboration agreement item.
As you have seen, it is important to highlight the great work done by the Berguedà County Council in favor of transparency focused on citizens, making it easier and simpler to consult the information provided on the transparency portal.
Commenting on the impact of the work with the area of digital administration of the County Council of Berguedà emphasize that “Transparency must go beyond the simple fact of publishing the information required by law 19/2014. This advertising must be done in a visual and understandable way for the citizens, proactively and with a focus on the reuse of information and the tools that allow it to be displayed. In this sense, we believe that the experiences we are carrying out to improve transparency in the municipalities of the Berguedà region and the County Council itself are very enriching, using as a basis the AOC solutions of transparency and open data, a standard in the territory within the reach of any local body. ”
From the AOC we completely agree with this vision and we continue to monitor all those good practices that facilitate it, with the intention of being able to move forward to design and automate new views in the items of our portal.
