Since last October, Catalonia has been a member of the Open Government Partnership (OGP), the World Alliance of Open Governments which encompasses more than 200 territories on five continents with the aim of securing concrete commitments to promote open government, empower citizenship, fight corruption and strengthen governance with the incorporation of new technologies.
La incorporation of Catalonia into the OGP, which had the great support of civic and social institutions and entities, involves the elaboration of a OGP Action Plan co-created between public administrations and civil society. This Action Plan will materialize in several specific commitments on open government and that will have to be applied by the Catalan administrations (Generalitat and local administration) during the next years.
To draw up the Action Plan, it has recently been set up the Open Government Agora and has been open until May 24 one citizen consultation phase open to the public, associations and public administrations to propose and validate the axes that will serve to define the working groups in the framework of which the future commitments of the Plan will be specified. You can participate through the platform participate.gencat.cat
The beginning of the elaboration of the plan is framed in the International Open Government Week which is held from 17 to 21 May and which promotes the OGP #OpenGovWeek with the aim of promoting actions in this field worldwide.
