A total of one hundred and twenty-one town councils, eleven county councils and three provincial councils have been awarded the Infoparticipa 2020 Seal. 90% of the winning town councils with less than 20.000 inhabitants use the AOC portal.
Infoparticipa is the reference award for good practices in the field of communicative transparency on local government websites. The eighth edition of the delivery of the stamps, held on May 10 in the Auditorium of the Autonomous University of Barcelona, was attended by the Honorable Minister of Foreign Affairs, Institutional Relations and Transparency, Bernat Sole, who stressed the need to "recognize the commitment of the Network of Transparent Governments that has provided joint services to achieve efficient management of transparency." In fact, almost 90% of the county councils and town councils with less than 20.000 award-winning inhabitants are users of the AOC's Transparency portal, which it promotes in conjunction with the Network of Transparent Governments.
The professor of Spanish at the University of Barcelona also took part in the event Estrella Montolío Durán, with the presentation “The right to understand of the citizenry".
The InfoParticipate Seal in the quality and transparency of local public communication is a certification granted by the Autonomous University of Barcelona (UAB) from the Infoparticipa Map, a tool promoted by the Laboratory of Journalism and Communication for Plural Citizenship (LPCCP) of the UAB in 2012 and now managed by the new research group ComSET (Sound, Strategic Communication and Transparency) as a result of the merger of the Laboratory of Journalism and Communication for Plural and Publiradio Citizenship. The 947 websites of Catalan City Councils are evaluated, which publish information that makes it easier for any citizen to have knowledge about who the political representatives of their municipality are, how they manage collective resources and what forms of participation they make available to them. The InfoParticipa Seal is a quality brand that gives guarantees of trust and credibility to citizens, and an incentive for political and technical leaders.
