The identity data consultation service, provided by the General Directorate of Police, has been modified to report the DNI of foreign nationals who have been nationalized.
From now on, when a query is made by NIE, if the foreign citizen on whom the query is made has been nationalized, the answer will only report:
- That the citizen consulted has been nationalized, with the incorporation of code 0I.
- The DNI number corresponding to your nationalized NIE.
In order to know the rest of the identity data, the administration will have to make a new query for the identification document in force: the DNI.
Example of a response that will be obtained if the NIE of a citizen who has been nationalized is consulted
This information is useful to prevent, among other things, some irregularities or mishaps detected in the application for subsidies, aid and / or social benefits, where some nationals applied in duplicate for the same aid, submitting different applications. with a different identification document: the NIE and the DNI, without the administration having a service where it could contrast the correspondence between these two documents.
To respond to this need, the General Directorate of Police has not developed any new service, but has incorporated this information in the service "consultation of identity data". Consequently, the bodies that have already authorized this service have this information available for those already authorized procedures, without the need to request new authorizations.
This information is currently being provided in queries made through EACAT screens. However, In order for this information to be returned in the queries made via integration, it is necessary for the integrated bodies to adapt their messaging to the integration documentation available in the section General Directorate of Police of the Support Channel.
