The partners of the Gàvius initiative, led by the City Council of Gavà i Mataró, met on April 20 to promote this European project with a clear social purpose that aims to bring the administration closer to the citizens, and an example of joint work of the “quadruple helix": public administration, representaby the Gavà City Council, the Mataró City Council and the Open Administration Consortium of Catalonia (AOC); the business sector, with Inetum and EY; the knowledge centers, with the participation of the Polytechnic University of Catalonia (UPC) and the International Center for Numerical Methods in Engineering (CIMNE) and the public, representaprovided by the XNet platform.
Gàvius contemplates the creation of three solutions:

An mobile application which makes it easier for citizens to obtain the social aids and subsidies to which they are entitled in an efficient and personalized way.
- Un assistant for social services municipal.

An resource planning and management tool at City Hall.
The executive meeting, held at the TecnoCampus, took stock of the current state of the project, after a year and a half of progress in which there have been some delays mainly due to the pandemic, as this came when Gàvius ’team was defining the strategy for involving citizens in the co-design of the virtual assistant.
At the press conference that took place below, the methodology that will finally be used to involve the public in the design of the application was presented, as well as the co-creation process which is about to begin through the virtual platforms “Gavà participates, Gavà decides” and “Decidim Mataro”.
The AOC contributes to the Gàvius project with its experience in the development and implementation of the local social services management system Hèstia, proactive and personalized services in the social field and digital cloud administration services that include technology, processes and change management.
It also acts as an interoperability node for Catalan public administrations and provides the VALID digital identification services hub and a pilot for a self-sovereign digital identity (SSI) solution based on blockchain technology, so that citizens can access and process with the Gàvius virtual assistant in an agile, easy and secure way.
In addition, the AOC will be responsible for promoting and supporting the deployment of the Gàvius system in the local councils and entities involved.eressats.
