The 4th edition of the Digital Government Congress, the forum for debate in Catalonia in the field of digital transformation of the public sector, will be held on 9, 10 and 11 November in Barcelona. This year's edition changes format and opts for a hybrid event that will combine online presentations and round tables where the audience can participate remotely and face-to-face in the form of practical workshops.

In the wake of the pandemic, our society has been driven by the accelerated development of digital technologies. The urgent need for citizens to adapt has allowed them to achieve strong digital skills. The Administration, for its part, has also made great efforts to respond to the new needs, problems and challenges that have arisen from the economic and social crisis and has managed to make significant progress in the field of digital public services.

This year's Digital Government Congress should serve to give voice to the important role played by Catalan public entities during this time of pandemic. We want the 4th edition of the congress to serve to share everything that has been achieved in the digital field in this last stage, and to continue to promote all the successes achieved for the future.

We are at a historic moment to create a leading country in terms of the digitization of the public sphere and that is why, under the motto “New scenarios. New Opportunities ”, the 2021 Digital Government Congress aims to be a space for the exchange of knowledge and reflection that serves to promote the transformation of public administration in accordance with the new needs and values of society, taking advantage of the opportunities offered by the tools and technologies in the digital world.

In this 4th edition of the Digital Government Congress we will have the opportunity to know first hand how the Catalan public administrations are approaching the citizens through the creation of new channels of communication and participation; how they are designing new proactive and personalized public services or what initiatives are being taken to open up data with public value. Thanks to all the people who will participate in this event, our second sub-motto of the congress will be given meaning: "Closer"eres. More inclusive. More open.”

The inaugural presentation of the 4th edition of the Digital Government Congress will be given by Nuria Oliver, PhD in artificial intelligence from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT). As for the program, we are working on the final touches and we will have it ready in the coming days. We can anticipate that there will be presentations and round tables online where registrants can participate remotely, as well as small-format face-to-face workshops. We will soon begin the registration period for the Digital Government Congress, the leading event in the field of digital administration. Until then, book your date!
