We save the citizen from having to submit 7 documents a year through Via Oberta

VIA OBERTA has been one of the AOC services that has grown the most during 2019. Specifically, this service has registered 56 million exchanges of data and documents between administrations, 43% more than the previous year, which was 39 million queries. This number of queries shows that each citizen has saved presenting (on average) 7 documents in their procedures and dealings with the Administration. This documentary saving translates into an economic saving of 256 million euros during 2019 alone, 41% more than in 2018, which was 181 million euros.

VIA OBERTA It is the AOC service that allows compliance with the principle of "once only", that is, the right of citizens not to provide documents that are already in the possession of the administrations.

Of the 759 public entities that have been able to access data and documents from other administrations through VIA OBERTA, 600 are town halls but the entity that stands out as the main consumer is the Generalitat de Catalunya, with nearly 25 million consultations, followed by the Municipal Institute of Social Services of Barcelona, ​​with 15.5 million consultations and the Barcelona City Council, which has carried out 6.7 million consultations.

The most consulted services were "Income" and "Debts with Social Security and affiliation situation". Regarding the purposes of the consultation, it should be noted that 40% of the consultations were related to "Grants, subsidies and scholarships".
