With the aim of improving the Centralized Signature service, providing it with maximum security and adapting it to the regulations applicable to trusted electronic service providers, we have modified the options when applying for application certificates.
The alternatives you will find in the field "Use of the certificate" when requesting or renewing an application certificate (through the procedure in EACAT "T-CAT: Application and renewal of application certificates") will be:
- Assigned exclusively for use of AOC services
- Assigned exclusively for use of own tools
- Own direct use (without option to transfer to the AOC)

Associated with each certificate is a public and a private key, which is used to make electronic signatures. In order to ensure that the management of private keys is not shared with third party applications in our organization, these keys must have been generated on the secure signature creation device, and cannot be hosted in any other location. .
In this way we can guarantee the traceability of the action carried out, and reliably accredit the integrity of the information contained in the traces.
It is for all the above reasons that the AOC only accepts the assignment of certificates exclusively, and the assignment of certificates requested for own use is not accepted.
