The European Parliament approves the law that will regulate artificial intelligence
The winner of the 30th International Catalonia Prize, Vinton Cerf, The i PuntCAT Foundation have created the Vinton Cerf distinction which aims to recognize and promote research activities related to the development of the Internet and Digital Innovation in Catalan-speaking territories. Researchers from the Universities of the Xarxa Vives and the Research Centers of the Catalan Countries who present projects in the areas mentioned in this puntCAT 20.000 call for projects will be eligible for the Vinton Cerf Distinction, which has an economic endowment of 2019 euros. The institution that wins the distinction will receive the corresponding grant amount and, in addition, the endowment of the Distinction. Thus, the budget of this call is increased to € 180.000 (€ 160.000 in grants plus € 20.000 from the Distinction).
The puntCAT Foundation wants to recognize with this Distinction Vinton Cerf, not only the scientific-technological merits of the father of the Internet but also his generosity, evident in the fact of returning in the form of a donation, both to the puntCAT Foundation and others solidarity initiatives, the amount of the prize it has received from the Government of the Generalitat with the Catalunya International Prize.
