To promote Smart Administrations, access to data with public value from the private sector is necessary.
Public administrations in Spain, the Dominican Republic, Mexico and Peru have been recognized in the 2017 NovaGob Excellence Awards for their good practices through innovative projects aimed at improving their procedures and attention to citizens.
From the 83 nominations that were initially nominated for the Awards, the NovaGob community chose by voting 18 finalists divided into 9 categories within three major themes: (1) People (human talent to achieve excellence ); (2) Values (public ethics, open government and the fight against corruption) and (3) Technology (digital transformation for the generation of public value).
The decision is based on different criteria for scoring initiatives, such as: creativity, knowledge and innovation; impact on citizenship; transfer and dissemination; sustainability; public value generated; effectiveness and efficiency; degree of improvement; geographical diversity and votes obtained.
Specifically, and for the thematic axis (2) Values, el has fallen to the "Code of Conduct for Senior Officials and Management Staff", presented by the Directorate General of Modernization and Innovation of the Administration, Generalitat de Catalunya.
The great interest aroused by this edition of the awards (83 nominations submitted and more than 3.000 votes cast by public sector professionals who are part of the NovaGob social network) places them as one of the benchmarks in Latin America to highlight innovation in the public sector.
The Awards Ceremony will take place at the 18th edition of the NovaGob Congress, which this year will be held on 19, 20 and 2017 October XNUMX in La Laguna (Tenerife, Spain).
Finally remember that in the framework of the agreement of the Network of Transparent Governments of Catalonia (XGTC), a working group was set up which has drawn up a model code of conduct for senior officials of the local administration. This code contains the ethical and good governance principles to which senior officials must be subject, as well as the rules of conduct by which they must be governed, which include, in addition to general commitments, commitments in relationship with conflicts of interest and interest groups and commitments in relation to citizenship.
The above-mentioned model code of conduct has been sent to all local bodies in the country along with one guide for your application, because, if they deem it appropriate, they adopt it as their own, introducing, if necessary, the modifications they deem necessary.
