We inform you that since 7/2/2016 the new consultation on the absence of criminal records is now operational. Via ObertaWhat you get with this query is a negative certification of crime commission issued by the Central Register of Penitentiaries of the Ministry of Justice. In the event that the citizen has a criminal record, the consultation returns a message informing the requesting administration that it must ask the citizen to request a Criminal Record Certificate from the corresponding office of Justice.
This service will allow the Catalan public administrations to comply with the provisions of LO 1/1996, on the Legal Protection of Minors, modified by the L26 / 2015, –That is, the obligation to provide negative certificates from the Central Registry of Sex Offenders to all professionals who work in regular contact with minors–, without the said certificate having to be provided by the citizen himself.
It should be noted that, pending the entry into force of the Central Registry of Sex Offenders (in principle, March 1, 2016), the certification will be issued by the Central Registry of Penitentiaries, as provided for in the Fourth Transitional Provision of the L26 / 2015, of 28 July.
