Last November we informed you about changes to the certification hierarchy of the AOC Consortium which makes it essential that the new keys are configured. In this article we inform you that current certification bodies were replaced by:
- The Certification Entity — SectorPublic: that will focus the issuance of certificates for the Public Sector of Catalonia, replacing the current EC-SAFP, EC-AL, EC-UR and EC-Parliament.
- The Citizen Certification Entity: which will issue digital certificates to citizens in place of the current EC‐idCAT.
These new certification entities will be put into operation in a phased manner.
The first to go into production will be the EC‐ idCAT which will become EC‐Ciutadania from 1 April 2015. Later the change will be made to the EC UR, the EC AL and finally, to the EC SAFP and the EC Parliament. The dates of entry into production of these new ECs will be communicated to you in each case.
For these dates it is essential that you configure the certificates of these two new certification entities in your systems and applications. If you do not configure them, you may find that applications are not working properly. You will find these certificates at the following links and you can install both without any problems:
You will also need to enable compatibility to these user application certificates: browsers (Firefox), Adobe Acrobat, etc; Windows server and client systems through corporate domain trusts, client and server level JAVA based applications, etc. The AOC Consortium's website is available manuals how to make these settings. Finally, we recommend that they be made before production Proves on the platforms of public sector entities that have to use and / or accept the new certificates (whether they are citizens, public employees, legal entities or devices) using the package of test certificates issued from the 'around Production and from the environment of Pre-production.
