The Law on the Simplification of Administrative Activity enters into force

La Law 16/2015, of July 21, on the simplification of the administrative activity of the Administration of the Generalitat and the local governments of Catalonia and on the promotion of economic activity Its purpose is to establish the principles and criteria that must be followed by the public administrations of Catalonia, for the purpose of:

  • to promote economic activity by eliminating or reducing the administrative procedures of companies and professionals to start an economic activity in Catalonia
  • streamline and simplify administrative activity
  • simplify relations between the public administrations of Catalonia by improving their coordination
  • make effective the right of citizens, companies and professionals to access the exercise of economic activity in an agile and efficient manner.

Title III modifies various regulations with the force of law, such as Law 26/2010, of 3 August, on the legal and procedural regime of the public administrations of Catalonia; the revised text of the Municipal Law and Local Regime of Catalonia, approved by Legislative Decree 2/2003, of 28 April; the revised text of the Town Planning Act; the Forest Law of Catalonia, among others.
