On January 22, the delivery of the Open Administration Awards, within the Digital Governance Congress held at the Congress Center in Barcelona. These awards are intended to acknowledge the effort made by the Catalan city councils in the implantation and use of e-government services.
The first edition of the awards has been based on the information contained in it 14th e-administration report prepared by the AOC Consortium. This report includes, among others, aspects as if the municipal website offers electronic processing; if it has a seat and e-board of edicts; if suppliers can deposit e-invoices or receive e-notifications; or if the city council telematically exchanges data with other administrations.
The Open Administration Awards have five categories according to the number of inhabitants, and the awarded councils of each category have been the following:
In the category of city councils less than 1.000 inhabitants: Foradada i Preixens, first prize equally; Montclar, third prize.
In the category of city councils between 1.001 and 5.000 inhabitants: Avignon, first prize; Folgueroles, second prize; Callús, third prize.
In the category of city councils between 5.001 and 20.000 inhabitants: Malgrat de Mar and Vilanova del Camí, first prize equally; Masquefa, third prize.
In the category of city councils between 20.001 and 50.000 inhabitants: Manlleu, first prize; Sant Feliu de Llobregat, second prize; Cambrils and Castellar del Vallès, third prize equally.
In the category of city councils more than 50.000 inhabitants: Terrace, first prize; Viladecans, second prize; El Prat de Llobregat, third prize.
During the awards ceremony, the Open Administration Award was presented to the top 3 in each of the categories, as well as a recognition mention to the 10 best councils in each category.
