From December, the Ombudsman will use the communications serviceeNOTUM, for the communication of the actions and investigations into possible violations of rights, which anyone can present to this institution.
The Catalan Ombudsman ensures that people's rights are respected. Rights that affect various groups and areas of action, and that define the society in which we live. It has the function of attending to the complaints of all the people who are helpless in the face of the action or lack of action of the administrations. It oversees the proper functioning of the Administration of the Generalitat and the local bodies of Catalonia, such as town councils, provincial councils or county councils. Therefore, he acts as a supervisor and collaborator of the Catalan Administration, with the aim of helping to improve its operation.
In its resolutions, the Catalan Ombudsman makes the recommendations and warnings that he considers appropriate to the administrations to correct an irregular situation. It may also recommend the introduction of legal changes or modifications to those rules in which it observes a violation of people's rights. The Catalan Ombudsman does not impose, sanction or sentence, but his resolutions are final.
E-NOTUM is a service that allows you to perform notifications of administrative acts (resolutions, decrees, notifications for contracting, traffic sanctions notifications, calls for collegiate bodies, etc.) i communications by electronic means, with all the legal guarantees established by current regulations.
At the moment, the Catalan Ombudsman is the only body that will use the e-Notum service for communications.
