The city councils of Catalonia continue to lead the digital transformation in the State
"Open data to live better" is the title of an article published in La Vanguardia recently.
Barcelona has consolidated itself in recent years as a “Smart City” of reference. IDC Corporate USA considered it in 2012 the first 'smart city' in Spain and Co.Exist it placed it, a year later, in fourth place in the European classification and tenth in the world.
In this way, Barcelona, as the world capital of mobile and European capital of innovation, has been committed for some years to a new concept of city that, thanks to the use of new information and communication technologies ( ICT), aspires to enjoy a more efficient management of its services and resources, and which has deposited in the open data an important part of its hopes.
