The Catalan Government has approved the previous report of the Draft Law that will transform the Information Security Center in Catalonia (CESICAT) in the government body in charge of managing the cybersecurity in Catalonia.
The aim of the initiative, which fulfills a mandate of the Parliament, is to ensure that the entity in charge of the cybersecurity function has the appropriate legal form to carry out the functions, tasks and activities in the field of cybersecurity.
Specifically, among the commissions and functions that will have the organism emphasize the following:
- The execution of the public cybersecurity service. It will be responsible for ensuring the ICT security of Catalonia.
- Coordination with the private sector to improve the ICT security levels of the citizens.
- Support the Government in developing and executing the corresponding ICT security plans.
- The improvement of the level of ICT security and the promotion of the security of the digital identity of the citizens of Catalonia.
- Organize the dissemination, training and awareness activities for the different target groups and provide them with the appropriate tools and programs.
The AOC Consortium, through CESICAT, offers services to local public administrations so that they improve the security of their information systems and apply measures, both organizational and technical, to achieve this goal.
