The collective burning service, which allows the removal of plant debris and branching from agricultural work, began on March 15 and ended on June 14. During these 3 months, a total of 26530 collective burning permits have been issued in a total of 401 municipalities.
The requests were made through the extranet of the public administrations of Catalonia (EACAT) and the processing of this permit has been simplified and streamlined because applicants only have to go through a single window, that of their town hall.
The success of this selective burning authorization service, used for 3 years in the province of Tarragona and the counties of Alt Penedès and Baix Llobregat, has allowed this year to finish implementing the process in the municipalities of Terres de l'Ebre, introduce all the municipalities of 6 counties of Lleida and implement, for the first time, this modality in the counties of Anoia, Bages, Berguedà, Osona and Solsonès.
The counties that have made the most burns are the Baix Ebre, the Baix Camp, the Ribera d'Ebre and the Garrigues.
The satisfaction with the implementation of this service among town councils and farmers, both from municipalities that joined this year and from those that had already been using it for three years, has led the Department to study new strategies in the processing of documentation using theEACAT as a tool to improve processes.
