Version 2.4 of the e-signature web tool has been published

The AOC Consortium has published a new version of thee-signature web tool which, with respect to the previous version, incorporates a couple of new features, corrections and / or behavioral improvements as well as a decrease in the size of the libraries.

The e-signature web toolIt is an applet for version 1.5 (or higher) of the Java virtual machine, which facilitates the integration of electronic signature functionality in web applications and allows you to sign different document formats with different signature formats.

Its use reduces the economic efforts of public administrations in developing their applications, facilitates the use of digital certificates in applications and minimizes the impact of the integration of electronic signatures in such applications, introducing the electronic signature in the administrative procedures of dynamic and simple form.

The e-signature web tool is aimed at any web application of the Catalan administrations that requires an electronic signature in different formats. It has been available since 2006.

What's new in version 2.4 of the e-signature web tool

The changes included in this new version are:

  • All the libraries in the applet have been compiled without incorporating the information resulting from the removal of errors to reduce the total size of the libraries, which have gone from 7MB to 5,8MB.

  • The possibility of generating a signature in a PDF has been added, making it visible on all pages (the page number -1 must be passed as a parameter). També s'han agregat les traduccions per als textos de la capsa de signatura en signatures visibles dins de PDF (date, reason, location i digitally signed) perquè surtin en català o castellà en funció de l'idioma seleccionat en la configuració de l' applet.

  • As a novelty, the functionality to export the certificate in base64 of the selected warehouse has been incorporated. It is done with a new javascript call. This call is available in both normal and embedded mode.

  • In addition, a pop-up window is displayed with an error in case an incorrect password was entered for a PKCS # 11 library or for the Firefox store; the logos have been modified and the encoding of the js_event return has been optimized to improve response times in case the return of the signature is expected in a javascript event.

  • The following examples are added to the distribution to test the new features:

Example 26: Signature of a PDF visible on all pages. Example 27: Exporting a certificate. Example 28: Exporting a certificate in embedded mode.
