From the idCAT service we would like to inform you about the improvements made to the platform in the last intervention on June 1, 2012, as a result of the suggestions we have received from you.
Some of the improvements are:
1. Appearance documents in English and French:
Per tal de fer el més accessible possible la informació del servei als ciutadans, l'aplicació permet imprimir els documents associats a les operacions que feu des del web d'operador en català, castellà, aranès (possibilitat ja existent fins ara), ia partir from now on, also in English and French. All you have to do is choose the language most understood by the citizen in the "Language" drop-down before completing the operation.
You can also change the language by accessing the certificate detail page by searching for it with the "Certificate Query" option. Just choose the appropriate language and click "Edit Data". Once this is done, the system will show you the screen where the documents associated with this certificate will appear, which you can print in the new language by clicking the "View" button.
2. Review of communications sent by e-mail to the citizen:
Related to the previous point, communications sent by e-mail to citizens will be sent in the language you have chosen for that certificate. These communications have been revised to make them more understandable, simplifying the information and adding explanatory videos.
3. Simplification of the process of downloading the certificate:
As you know, to use the certificate, the citizen must download it in advance. Until now, the citizen had to select the section “Installation” or “Prevalidation” depending on whether he had made the application from home or not. Now the citizen only has to put his NIF in step 3 (“ Certificate Download ”), and the system already differentiates whether you made the request before or not, and shows you the corresponding screen.
4. Sending reminders for pending download certificates:
The service incorporates a new feature consisting of sending a notice, by e-mail, 7 days after validating the data to the Registration Entity, and a second notice after 21 days (in case the citizen has not yet downloaded). This e-mail, which the citizen will receive in the language you have indicated at the time of the prevalidation, informs him that he must download in order to use his certificate, and reminds him of the download instructions, which already appeared in the appearance document.
5. Explanatory videos in the sections of the web www.idcat.cat:
To make the various actions that a citizen can perform from the website www.idcat.cat more understandable, we have prepared explanatory videos that the citizen will find in the various sections (application, renewal, download, etc.). All these videos are available at idCAT Youtube channel. These videos must be available so that the citizen has all the necessary information about idCAT, thus minimizing inquiries towards you and our Customer Service Center. Therefore, we encourage you to promote this channel among the citizens.
6. Improvement of the application process on the web www.idcat.cat:
Until now, the application process included the search for registration entities before completing the process. The change introduced makes the citizen see this search once the application has been completed. This solves a problem that we had detected in the application process, as there were citizens who when they arrived at the search screen of registration entities believed that they had already completed the process, when it was not. In this way, on the same page of “Application made”, the citizen will already find the search for the nearest registration entity by the postal code indicated.
7. Application and download of the certificate with the Google Chrome browser:
Since the Google Chrome browser does not allow the request or download of certificates, we have included an explanatory message in these sections of the website www.idcat.cat, in order to inform citizens to do this with other browsers, with Explorer or Firefox.
