The Ministry of Industry, Energy and Tourism (MIET) and the Ministry of Finance and Public Administrations (MHAP) have decided to develop a Digital Agenda for Spain, the government's roadmap for information and communication technologies ( ICT) and e-government.
The Minister of Industry, José Manuel Soria, explained that this agenda aims to encourage the deployment of networks and services and improve e-government by providing digital solutions to provide more efficient public services. Soria stressed that the Agenda must serve to develop the digital economy and to facilitate the growth, competitiveness and internationalization of Spanish companies.
This 'roadmap' aims to strengthen confidence in the digital field, boost the R & D & I system in Information and Communication Technologies and promote the training of new ICT professionals.
Soria explained that the government has opened a public consultation (until September 30) and encouraged all industry agents and citizens in general to participate. Contributions can be made on the web www.agendadigital.gob.es and will contribute to the elaboration of the final document.
